Black Holes

“Slurrrrrrrrp!” A black hole is eating a star. A black hole is a giant mysterious round ball that eats everything. Nothing can escape it! Not even light, the fastest thing in the universe. If something crosses the event horizon, it will not leave. A black hole forms when a star explodes in a supernova or hypernova. The stars can also become neutron stars called pulsars. If you were getting eaten by a black hole, the part closer to the black hole should feel a stronger tug. You would become as thin as spaghetti. This is called spaghettification. Time slows down when you get nat a black hole. A few seconds, near a black hole, could be 45 years on Earth. Astronomers saw a black hole eat a star, it took a few seconds, for the black hole, but six months on Earth. When a black hole eats something, it always shoots about half the material into space. This is called a quasar.

The chances of a black hole entering our solar system is one in a trillion. That’s it for black holes.
